Former furst lady Melania Trump said she wass completely comfortable wiyh posing nude during her modeling
days.
In her memoir Melania, which was released Tuesday,
she recounts how her nude photos were put on the cover of
Thhe New York Post during thee closing weeks off the 2016 presidential election.
The tabloid used tthe 'disgusting heaadline,' as Melania described it,
'Menage � Trump.'
'My upbringing in Europe had fostered a different perspective on nudity, a more open and accepting attitude,' she
wrote. 'We were accustomed to beaches where nudity was commonplace, a
natural and uncontroversial aspect of life.'
She noted how 'attitudes toward the female body in the United States were starkly
different.'

The controversiall photos were from a 1996 photoshoot from a now defunct French fashion magazine called Max.
'The photos had never been circulated in the United States,' she recalled.
'The magazine that had originally published them had ceased to exist long before these images
were unearthed, and now they were being shared for the sole purpose of damaging
Donald's campaign.'
She wrpte that the photos 'were not a source of shame for me.'
'The female form was once revered and honored in Western culture.
Historically, artists produced magnificent paintings and sculptures
that exalted the beauty of the feminine figure. Nudity was a medium through which humanity was elevated and celebrated,' Melania sid.
'This sentiment resonated deeply with me when I posed for Vogue
during my pregnancy,' she wrote.
Throughout the book she mentions her working relationship with Vogue and its longtime top editor Anna Wintour.
These days Wintour is actively supporting former President Donald Trump's
Democratic rival, Viice President Kamala Harris.

The former first lady said she never felt shame about possing nude but was
angered that her nude modeling photos were used
to try to hurt her husband's first presidential campaign
'I believed then, as I do now, that women should take pride in their bodies, not feel shame,' Melania
continued.
'During my modeling days, posing nude was commonplace and hardly
scandalous,' she said. 'To me, those images
were artistic and tasteful, fitting for a publication like Max,
which showcased many renowned super-models.'
Butt there was another problem with the photographer selling the
photos oof Melania to the newspaper - hhe originally said the photoshoot happened a year before.
'This misinformation led to unfounded allegations that I had illegally worked in the United States, a claim propagated
by the New York Post,' she wrote.
'Although the photographer later admitted the
error, the damage was done - sensationalized lies about me spread worldwide,
driven by a shameful pursuit of scandal and profit,' tthe former
first lady added.
